What Causes Alopecia – Male Pattern Baldness?

Actor, Jason Statham

After researching this topic, there are actually a number of variables that can cause Alopecia or Male Pattern Baldness. One of the most surprising, however, was when I read that our modern diets are high in estrogen, the female hormone. One article, written by Dr. Wong, explains how we are all exposed to high levels of estrogen constantly and in high doses.

This article, referenced above, goes on the explain how high levels of estrogen can, and probably does, cause other ailments such as:

  • Prostate Cancer
  • Swollen Prostate
  • Poor Libido
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • and, of course, Male Pattern Baldness.

It is estrogen that causes muscle loss, fat gain, cranky moods, depression, swollen prostates and lack of mental drive. ~Dr. Wong

Daily Doses of Estrogen!

There are environmental factors such as pesticides and fertilizers, and there are specific ingredients to our food that is adding to our massive daily exposure.

The two known sources of estrogen that we are ingesting on a daily basis are Flax and Soy.

After reading this particular article, it does answer some of the questions I’ve had about obese children, effeminate boys, and the onset of extremely early puberty in girls that you sometimes hear about.

Diet and Nutrition

While I’m no expert in diet or nutrition, the information that I’ve read does make sense. We are likely consuming things that do harm us over time. (Please read my Legal Disclosure Page.) People should be more aware of how these ingredients are likely negatively affecting us, and it follows that if we were to reduce or eliminate certain foods, we may be able to reverse these negative effects. So, please do feel free to conduct your own research, and check with your doctor, nutritionist, or other licensed professional before you rely on or follow any information obtained on this, or any other, website.

To conclude, I will likely write more about this topic and write more articles about the causes, effects, and cures we can use to help reduce, stop, and/or reverse the harmful effects being done to our bodies. Once I gather more information and research some of the suggested products, I will come back and post a link to them here. (Status Update 02/20/18: Read my newest post about Soy Causing Hair Loss here.) There are also a few books which I have curated and made available directly in the store section which address the topic of nutrition and how we need to balance our diet. Feel free to check them out!

For now, here’s a quick little video to help address some of the known causes of Male Pattern Baldness.
